TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – TSX-listed HudBay Minerals has moved its corporate headquarters to Toronto and has appointed former PT Inco COO Michael Winship as president and COO, the miner announced on Friday.

HudBay, which completed its acquisition of Skye Resources in August, also named Alan Hair as senior for development and Tom Goodman as senior operations vice president.

Hair, who was previously metallurgy, safety, health and environment vice president, will retain responsibility for corporate environmental health and safety at HudBay and will be based in Toronto.

Goodman, who will remain stationed at the company's Flin Flon, Manitoba, office, was previously technical services and human resources vice president.

Skye's main asset was the Fenix nickel project, in Guatemala, while HudBay owns mines, concentrators and a metal production complex in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan, in Canada, as well as a zinc oxide production facility in Ontario, the White Pine copper refinery in Michigan and the Balmat zinc mine in New York, where it suspended operations in August.
