Hera pours first gold
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Hera operation, in South Australia, has poured its first gold, ASX-listed Aurelia Metals announced on Monday.
The first two gold-silver dore bars were poured at the end of last week, following first concentrate production from the gold/lead/zinc project at the start of this month.
Aurelia told shareholders on Monday that the first gold pour formed part of the mill commissioning and confirmed the operation of the precious metals circuit.
“This is a very important milestone for Aurelia and marks our transition to Australia’s newest gold, silver, lead and zinc producer. The project now stands to deliver strong cash flow to Aurelia in the years ahead,” said MD Rimas Kairaitis.
Hera is expected to produce around 390 000 oz over a minimum life-of-mine of 7.3 years.
