JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The world’s fifth-largest gold producer, Harmony Gold, has appointed Steven Green and Malcolm Bentley as GMs.

Green was promoted to GM at Harmony’s Virginia operations, in the Free State, after serving as acting GM for three months. He has 24 years experience in the gold-mining industry.

Bentley has been appointed as the GM of the company’s Evander operation. He is an external appointment, but has nearly 30 years experience in the mining industry, during which time he held several managerial positions at platinum producer Impala Platinum, and mining company African Mining Services.

“Harmony recognises hard work and exceptional skills among its employees. Green’s promotion to GM at Harmony’s Virginia operation bares testimony to this. Bentley has commendable skills and experience in the mining industry, and he will be an asset to our team,” said Harmony chief executive Graham Briggs.
