TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Gold-stream firm Gold Wheaton will raise C$100-million from the sale of senior secured notes, and may use the funds for acquisitions, the Vancouver-based company said on Tuesday.
Sprott Asset Management has agreed to buy the notes, which will bear interest at 10%/y and have a five-year term, on behalf of certain funds and managed accounts.
Gold Wheaton has also agreed to issue 125-million warrants, also with a five year term, to Sprott, and will have the option to increase the notes offering to C$115-million with additional warrants.
The proceeds of the financing will be used “for general corporate purposes, including gold stream acquisitions”, the company said.
Gold Wheaton shares rose 6,52% on Tuesday, to 245 Canadian cents apiece, by 14:51 in Toronto.
