JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Glenn Baldwin, the executive vice-president (VP) and head of gold-miner Gold Fields’ Australia region, would resign as of December 31, 2009.
Baldwin would join Australia’s Consolidated Minerals as COO in February next year.
He would continue to be based in Perth until moving to London to join the Australian company’s corporate team in the next year.
“I am very pleased to welcome Glenn Baldwin to the group. He is a very high calibre mining executive who brings significant international operational mining experience to the group. I am delighted to have him join the senior management team,” Consolidated Minerals executive committee chairperson Gennadiy Bogolyubov stated.
In March, Gold Fields appointed Baldwin as VP and head of its Australia region, when it split its international unit in three portfolios. Prior to that, he was the head of international operations.
