TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – High-grade graphite producer Flinders Resources has filed a technical report with Canadian securities regulators outlining a nearly threefold expansion of flake graphite mineral resources at the company's 100%-owned Woxna graphite project, in Sweden.

The recent Canadian National Instrument 43-101-compliant technical report for the first time included two fully-owned flake graphite deposits at Gropabo and Mattsmyra.

These resources were located on fully granted mining leases, 18 km and 22 km, respectively, from the Woxna mine and processing plant. These new resources added to the previously announced mineral resource at the Kringelgruvan mining lease.

Flinders' Woxna project comprised four separate mining concessions.

Woxna's measured and indicated graphite resources had nearly tripled from 2.8-million tonnes, grading 10.7% graphitic carbon to 7.7-million tonnes, grading 9.3% graphitic carbon.

The Vancouver-based company expected the expanded resource base, located near its operational processing plant at Woxna, to provide more flexibility and confidence when planning for future expansions from the current 13 000 t/y capacity.
