JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) - ASX- and JSE-listed Firestone Energy said on Thursday that it was in advanced discussions with potential candidates to succeed John Wallington as the company's MD.
The company had previously announced that Wallington would step down on June 15, when he will take up position as CEO of the JSE-, Aim- and ASX-listed Coal of Africa Limited.
"In the interim, the company has constituted an executive committee consisting of John Dreyer as chairperson, Amanda Matthee who will oversee the day-to-day running of the South African office and Colin McIntyre who will concentrate on technical matters," the company said in a media statement.
Wallington will continue to take responsibility for the finalisation of the bankable feasibility study of the Waterberg coal project in South Africa, which is expected to be completed next month.
