PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Phosphate developer Fertoz has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the supply of 2 000 t/y of phosphate rock, over a three-year period.

The MoU followed on the 2 000 t of contracted sales announced by Fertoz in February, which was on track to start supplying in the third quarter of 2016.

The phosphate rock product would be sourced from Fertoz’s British Columbia project, using currently approved bulk sample permits of up to 27 500 t.

“The outcome of our sales efforts so far continues to restate our confidence in our product and the market we are focusing on,” said Fertoz MD Stephen Keith.

“With the recently announced certification of our rock phosphate to be used as input in organic farms in Canada and the US, and our proactive approach to reach potential buyers through the channels brought by our team of highly experienced sales and marketing professionals, I believe we are in a position in which we can aim to go beyond our current sales target of 10 000 t of direct application rock phosphate in the 2016 calendar year, using our currently approved bulk sample permits.”
