JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Black-empowered platinum miner Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) has suspended operations at the North shaft of its Bafokeng Rasimone platinum mine (BRPM) in the North West, pending an investigation into a fatality on Monday.

The worker, who was employed by mining services company Platcro, was fatally injured in a fall-of-ground incident that occurred while support systems were being installed.

Another worker sustained minor injuries and returned home after receiving treatment.
