Failsafe Fire Projects
Failsafe Fire Projects, founded in 1996, is a South African company providing customers with fire detection and suppression solutions, specialising in heavy industry and the mining sector. Over the last decade, Failsafe Fire Projects has entrenched itself as one of the top preferred suppliers in its market sector throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
With the motto ‘Safety never takes a day off’, Failsafe Fire Projects actively seeks solutions for difficult and complex fire hazards, while engineering suitable fire detection and suppression systems.
The company’s FireFox range of heavy-duty vehicle fire suppression systems is specifically engineered for fires initiated in engine compartments, including turbochargers, transmissions, hydraulic areas and brakes. Outside of mining, the firm also operates in market sectors such as agriculture, construction, defence and marine. In addition to the vehicle systems, Failsafe Fire Projects offers detection and suppression for industrial machinery, such as motor control rooms, server rooms and conveyors.
The flagship product for 2016 is the in-house-developed, GPS-enabled fire panel that can specifically monitor the integrity of a fire system remotely using Internet or SMS functionality.
Failsafe Fire Projects takes great pride in the training of customers’ machine operators, using a training rig which allows for live demonstrations. This ensures operators have the knowledge and expertise to activate systems in often high-stress times of need.
Manufacturing is done locally by a few appointed professional suppliers. Upon receipt of manufactured goods, assembly takes place in Failsafe Fire Projects’ Durban operation where products are shipped to other branch offices. Failsafe Fire Projects is based in Shop 29, The Power Centre, 21 Lanner road, New Germany, and has branches in Kempton Park, Gauteng, and Kathu, in the Northern Cape.
The company is a member of the Fire Protection Association of South Africa and Fire Fighting Equipment Traders Association, and has an excellent record.
Installing the correct fire detection and suppression system ensures protection of assets, the reduction of downtime and, most importantly, the saving of operators’ lives.
