Established in 2012, Exval Hydraulics prides itself on being aligned with some of the world leaders in fluid technology.

Exval, which is owned by Gareth Bown, has more than 20 years’ experience in the general hydraulics industry servicing most sectors and represents Hydac Technologies’ complete range of hydraulic products, services and components, as well as Moog Radial Piston Pumps and Eckerle Internal Gear Pumps.

In 2014, Exval Hydraulics combined its skills with those of the Lou Ma group of companies owned by Davey Lourens to build a new and improved version of the Mobile Water Monitor Gun at its Klerksdorp branch, specifically designed to cater for this development.

The new product, which is built in-house over a six-week period, offers hugely improved mobility and cost saving features to Exval and Lou Ma clients.

Its features include an improved slew angle, improved long-life nozzle technology and improved technology on the rotary swivels.

Further, increased direct power to the tracks makes the monitor gun fully mobile, negating the use of secondary machinery to relocate it, further saving on the overall fuel spend as well as machinery and equipment hours.

In addition, the monitor gun uses the very latest Hydac proportional technology to drive the remote-controlled hydraulic actuated system. The overall design is extremely user and maintenance friendly.
Exval notes that Phase 2 of the monitor gun development is already in progress, with further upgrades designed to improve the running cost of the machine.

In addition to its Klerksdorp facility, Exval also has a branch in Johannesburg.
