JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Recent drilling at Millennium Minerals’ Nullagine gold project, in the Pilbara, has returned positive results and supports the company’s plans to deliver a “step-change” in the operation’s production.

The ASX-listed company announced on Thursday that drilling had returned positive intercepts from the Au81 deposit, part of the Golden Eagle mining centre, and that it had highlighted the potential to extend the historical pits at Little Wonder and Roscoes Reward, which form part of the Camel Creek mining centre.

In addition, a review of conglomerate-hosted gold at Nullagine had delivered initial positive results, confirming the presence of gold mineralisation within the Dromedaries – two conglomerate-capped ridged east of the Golden Eagle plant.

The latest exploration results follow on the heels of Millennium’s recent gold discovery at Redbeard, part of the Yates trend, and exceptional high-grade intersections, including visible gold in core at Bartons underground.

Collectively, these results deliver high-grade gold intercepts from the entire mineralised corridor at Nullagine from the south-west to the north-east, Millennium said, adding that it supported its plan to establish the project as a 100 000-oz/y operation with a mine life of five years.
