High-technology engineering and manufacturing company ITT Engineered Valves introduced its latest mining innovation, the Fabri-Valve 33 PTA push-through slurry valve.

The valve is specifically designed to withstand harsh slurry applications in the mining industry. It incorporates proprietary sleeve technology and a wide body design, which increases the valve’s life span in slurry applications.

The product has elastomeric seats that have been engineered to provide the highest degree of abrasion resistance and chemicals compatibility. The valve seats form a pressure boundary, allowing the gate and actuation to be maintained while under pressure, ultimately, reducing downtime.

The low discharge valve has a push-through seat design that is self-cleaning. The company reports that it takes operator safety into consideration when dealing with discharge valves by developing specific guidelines to increase safety awareness and assist customers in choosing the right valve for specific applications.

The 33 PTA is available in sizes ranging from 76 mm to 609 mm diameters and rated to operate at 1 030 kPa.

ITT reports that, with the addition of this heavy-duty slurry valve, the company offers a complete line of mining knife gate products.

ITT Engineered Valves global marketing manager Paul Lopez says the 33 PTA valve adds to an already robust line of mining products, allowing the company to better serve the mining industry.

The company now has 15 valve products for slurry applications. “The new valve rounds out ITT’s full line of highly engineered slurry valves so that customers can be assured of ITT’s quality standard for all of their engineered valve requirements,” says Lopez.

He notes the company has 65 years of experience in the development, design, manufacture, installation and automation of knife gate valves.
