Electra Mining Botswana to showcase latest products and technologies

Botswana’s largest mining, industrial and power generation exhibition will be showcasing the latest products and technologies, equipment and machinery, and cutting-edge systems and services when it opens its doors in September.

Taking place at the Gabarone Fairgrounds from 12-14 September, Electra Mining Botswana will enable visitors to connect with over 100 local and international exhibitors, network with peers, and engage with industry organisations and government representatives.  With access to technical expertise, the opportunity to view live demonstrations of products and equipment, and entrance to the free-to-attend seminars, visitors will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and insight.

Victaulic will be introducing an unprecedented solution for the mining industry at Electra Mining Botswana. The Series 795 Knife Gate Valve is the first of its kind that can be maintained in-line without disconnecting the valve from the piping system for repair or rebuild. This new concept only takes 5% of the time you normally need during scheduled maintenance, cutting your downtime by 95%.

Smats Projects will be launching the SMATS HT954 Tractor at Electra Mining Botswana on 12 September between 12h00 and 13h00. The award winning tractor boasts unparalleled safety, world class technology, innovative design, is internationally benchmarked and Proudly South African manufactured. A live demonstration will also take place on 13 September periodically through the day.

WorleyParsons RSA will be hosting daily demonstrations on their stand. From 11h00 to 12h00 the 5D Presentations will focus on the integrated project platform - the most advanced project management tool. From 14h00 to 15h00 the Stepwise Presentation will talk about Advisian’s optimisation tools increasing probability of success for mining projects.

Takraf Africa will be running live demonstrations of the Redler Model on their stand at 10h30 daily and 14h00 on Tuesday and Wednesday and 13h00 on Thursday. Redler en-masse conveyors and elevators are used to convey coal, grain, wood chips, sand, lime, cement, fly-ash, mica, vermiculite, white asbestos, etc.  A lucky draw competition will also take place after each demonstration.

Sanika Waterproofing will be introducing the Crystalline concrete waterproofing technology at Electra Mining Botswana. Visitors can also join in the spot quiz on the Sanika stand with one lucky person winning a Nespresso machine.

CCG Cable Terminations will be demonstrating their international award winning Quickstop Ex Injection Resin Barrier gland at their stand. Visitors will also be able to enter the CCG lucky draw competitions taking place at various times during the day by leaving a business card at the stand.

Showcasing its full range of industrial, engineering and welding consumables, Tool Rep Guys will also be running a competition and giving away two very impressive state of the art tool boxes fully kitted with high quality tools. 

Astore Keymak will be making its debut appearance at Electra Mining Botswana this year, and will be showcasing its range of high quality pipes, fittings, semi-finished products, compression fittings, saddles, valves as well as irrigation hoses and accessories. Various interactive demonstrations including butt welding will be taking place on their stand as well as lucky prize draws.

There will be daily demonstrations of the iRTT (indurad Radio Transponder Tag) Tridemo at the Thyssenkrupp stand. Afrox will be showcasing their new product range of welding machines and welding rods. Mini 3D replicas of castings will be available to view at the Caldas For Crusher Wear Parts stand. Visitors to the Ausco Products stand will see the most advanced mining brake technology on the market today.

It will be competition time at the BEKA Schréder stand where visitors will have the chance to win a Tablet, a mobile fridge or a BEKA Schréder gift hamper. NSS Fasteners will be having a business card lucky draw on their stand to win an NSS goodie hamper.

MCD Training Centre will be introducing its newest training products and services at Electra Mining Botswana. On the Martin Engineering stand visitors will be able to view the CleanScrape® Cleaner, which is an innovative, durable metal-tipped belt cleaner, and the SMART™ Series Nozzle with its innovative design making it possible to use air cannons to achieve optimal material flow without all the headaches that typically come with maintaining them.

“There is an exciting line-up of new products, live demonstrations and lucky draw competitions at this year’s Electra Mining Botswana and visitors will benefit from the insight and information they will gain,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of the show in partnership with Botswana-based Soapbox Communications. “New technologies and innovation are influencing the way we do business and it’s imperative that those in the industry keep up-to-date with these trends.”  

Vuyiswa Mojela, Director of Soapbox Communications, agrees saying that visitors will “find an extensive source of knowledge available” and that she “encourages visitors to talk to the large number of technical experts who will be on the stands.”
