Company Announcement - Following the inaugural Electra Mining Botswana held in 2013, hailed as a great success by all stakeholders involved and hosting 118 exhibitors and attracting over 2000 visitors from across Africa, Electra Mining Botswana is back taking place at the Gaborone Fair Grounds from 1-3 September.

Creating a platform to stimulate trade in the mining and industrial sectors in Botswana and for companies and associations to use the trade show to network and develop business leads, the expo offers an opportunity to showcase current and developing technology, new products, equipment and machinery, and the latest systems and services. The show is strategically developed to be a ‘one stop’ trade event, and is expected to attract a higher numbers of visitors including high quality decision makers in all areas of mining, industrial, construction, power generation and machine tools. The country’s well-developed mining sector with its rich mineral reserves has been a significant driver of Botswana’s economic growth. Diamonds, along with copper and nickel, earn more than three-quarters of the country’s export revenues. More recently, coal and uranium have also emerged as key future revenue generators for the Botswana mining industry.

“The show is strategically developed to be a ‘one stop’ trade event to support this vital and growing industry in Botswana,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of the show in partnership with local Botswana company, Soapbox Communications.   “With the focus of the expo being not only on mining and mining related products, but also on industrial, power generation and machine tool sectors, both visitors to the show and our exhibitors will very much reflect this mix. Exhibitors at the show will have the opportunity to network with key decision-makers from these sectors, position their company brand, grow their client base, and launch new products and services directly to their target market”. “We were well received in Botswana at the inaugural event and had the endorsement of government and parastatals in the mining sector including the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Botswana Chamber of Mines and the Botswana Diamond Hub. We are currently in discussions with various stakeholders for this year’s expo,” says Corin. “A high number of exhibitors are already signed for 2015 based on the results they achieved and contacts made at the previous show. Over 65% of visitors were senior decision-makers with purchasing authority and a further 27% had influence over purchasing decisions, whilst over 50% attended to source new products”.

Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery is recognised internationally as an organiser of innovative, inspiring and highly effective exhibitions and offers a fully comprehensive on-site exhibitor service, taking care of all logistical requirements.
