Eco Oro Minerals appoints new CFO
TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Colombia-focused project developer Eco Oro Minerals has appointed Mary Ellen Thorburn as CFO following the resignation of Paul Robertson.
The company said Thorburn would bring extensive experience to Eco Oro, owing to her previous experience as a senior-level finance executive in the mining industry. Most recently Thorburn was corporate controller at Taseko Mines, and she previously held positions at Barrick Gold, UBS Securities Canada and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Thorburn is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute.
Robertson will continue on for a period of time to assist in the transition.
"Thorburn has a proven record of accomplishment as a corporate finance leader in the mining industry. She will make a strong addition to our leadership team and we are very pleased to welcome her to Eco Oro,” CEO Joao Carrelo said.
