JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The High Court of South Africa has granted a 28-day extension to the judicial management order issued for DRDGold’s Blyvooruitzicht mine in November last year.

The judicial managers now had until April 13 to compile and file a report on the affairs of the mine.

An interim report was supposed to have been submitted by the judicial managers on Tuesday.

The mine had been placed under judicial management last year, after posting a R27-million loss, as a result of industrial action, seismic events and rising energy costs.

However, in February, DRDGold CEO Niël Pretorius said that the mine was on track to emerge from judicial management by March.
