PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Doray Minerals has reported a new mineral resource estimate of 2.83-million tonnes, grading 6.2 g/t gold and 0.7% copper for its Deflector project, in Western Australia.

The company said on Thursday that the project was estimated to host some 569 000 oz of gold and 18 400 t of copper, after mining depletion.

The resource upgrade represented an effective replacement of the ounces mined since the start of operations at Deflector.

MD Leigh Junk told shareholders that the new mineral resource underpinned the company’s growth plans for Deflector, and provided a basis on which it could build on the production profile going forward.

“After the first year of production at Deflector, the geology team has effectively replaced mined depletion. We now look to grow this mineral resource to sustain the company for many years to come.”

The resource update was in addition to the Da Vinci discovery recently reported, where Doray delivered drilling results of 7.5 m at 29.7 g/t gold, including 1.5 m at 110 g/t gold and 2.8 m at 24.2 g/t gold.
