Making headlines today:

Emerging Western Australian iron-ore producer Gindalbie Metals remains confident that it will secure the necessary approvals to gain full access to the Karara joint venture site, in Western Australia, for the start of construction in the December quarter.

The production schedule currently estimates that haematite production will start towards the end of 2010, while magnetite production will start in mid-2011.


Africa-focused Rangold Resources' Tongon project, in Cote d'Ivoire, is on track for first production in the fourth quarter of 2010.

CEO Mark Bristow said that work on site had stepped up a gear with the start of the major civil programmes for the process plant. Excavation has been completed and some 1 000 cubic metres of a project total of 27 000 cubic metres of concrete has already been poured.
