JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Construction of the wash plant at Aim-listed Edenville Energy’s Rukwa project, in Tanzania, has been completed.

The plant is undergoing final commissioning and testing, and is expected to start producing washed coal for sale next week.

“The construction team has worked hard in challenging conditions to get the wash plant operational and this has now been achieved. We are now ready to start producing washed coal immediately following final commissioning.

“The intention is to process several thousand tons of run-of-mine coal in October to produce a range of washed coal products for delivery to several end-users,” CEO Rufus Short said in a statement on Friday.

Several major industrial users have requested test shipments from Edenville. These will be dispatched over the coming weeks.
