Attached please find a press release on: Katanga Mining Limited (TSX - KAT) ("Katanga" or the
"Company") today announced its intention to accelerate the ramp-up of its project in the Katanga
Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC") to 150,000 tons of copper and 8,000 tons of
cobalt per annum (the "Accelerated Development Plan") through the earlier completion of the
construction of Phases 3 and 4, as disclosed in the technical report (the "Technical Report") of the
Company dated March 31, 2009.
