JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The Chamber of Mines (CoM) of South Africa on Tuesday announced that Optimum Coal’s CEO Mike Teke had been elected VP at the CoM’s 121st annual general meeting.
Teke takes over from Anglo American Platinum CE Neville Nicolau, who did not avail himself for re-election.
The CoM’s office bearers include the president Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi, who is the chairperson of diversified miner BHP Billiton SA and two VPs. Teke joins AngloGold Ashanti CEO Mark Cutifani as the second VP.
