Central Eyre advances – Iron Road
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Iron Road has submitted a mining lease application and supporting mining lease proposal for its Central Eyre iron project, in South Australia, along with an environmental-impact statement (EIS).
The mining lease application was submitted to the Department of State Development, while the EIS was submitted to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
Iron Road on Friday said both documents provided comprehensive social, economic and environmental information on the Central Eyre project, along with the infrastructure required to support mining, ore processing and transport of the iron concentrate to market.
“After several years of work, including numerous field and technical studies and a full and comprehensive stakeholder engagement programme, we are thrilled to be submitting these applications to the South Australian government,” said Iron Road MD Andrew Stocks.
The Central Eyre project is expected to produce 24-million tonnes a year over a mine life of 25 years.
