Junior miner Etruscan Resources and Canadian explorer Mountain Lake Resources jointly announced today that their South African subsidiary, Etruscan Diamonds, has started a 250 000 m3 bulk-sampling programme on the Blue Gum deposit, located in the Ventersdorp diamond district of South Africa.

The Blue Gum deposit, outlined by an airborne gravity survey, identified a large sink hole measuring 3,1 km in length and 1,8 km in width. Large sinkhole features in the Ventersdorp diamond district are associated with diamondiferous gravels.

As a result of the planned bulk sample to determine the grade of the outlined gravel package, a total of 250 000 m3will be processed from six different areas starting close to the property line of the Tirisano diamond mine and moving into the centre of the Blue Gum deposit. Mining of the gravels has already started and processing is scheduled to start by mid-April. The bulk-sample programme will be carried out by contract miner, Gothoma Diggings of South Africa, who will pay all costs associated with the bulk sample and will receive 85 % of the diamond revenues.
