Local business solutions pro- vider AccTech Systems launched its blueprint enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution at the Investing in African Mining Indaba, which took place in Cape Town last month.

“Economic and socioeconomic pressures in the mining industry are forcing mining companies to manage their workforce, improve productivity, accurately manage and measure operations and, ultimately, improve bottom-line profitability,” AccTech Systems COO Morné Swanepoel told Mining Weekly on the sidelines of the conference.

He added that any system deployed in a mining environ- ment needed to bridge the gap between the financial and operational departments of a mining business.

“Built on a solid record and deployed by mining industry experts, Sage ERP for mining offers a complete set of business management solutions designed to manage all aspects of the modern mining enterprise,” said Swanepoel.

He emphasised that, regardless of whether a company was in the exploration phase of mining or in full production mode, Sage ERP delivered value-add and predictable results across all aspects of a mining business.

“This includes streamlined financials, the incorporation of production and exploration data, visibility and control of the supply chain process, asset management and maintenance, as well as human resource management,” he asserted.

Swanepoel further noted that the extraction and consolidation of data from remote mines using local systems was becoming a major challenge for mining groups in Africa.

“Managers have less time to make business decisions and, therefore, they urgently require sound operational and business intelligence tools to drive performance.”

AccTech’s ERP mining solutions are a scalable set of modules that can be applied to any mining operation – from junior-owned exploration projects to mines currently in full-scale production.

“With deployment options ranging from traditional on-site deployments to modern and economic hosted options, there is a Sage ERP solution that will fit any mining company’s budget and requirements,” he concluded.
