Aim-listed Bluejay is gearing up for an exploration programme to get under way at the Iterlak discovery, which forms part of its Dundas ilmenite project, in Greenland.

Bluejay has set itself a target of delivering a maiden resource at Iterlak of more than 100-million tonnes of material at an expected higher grade than the “company-making” Moriusaq resource, CEO Roderick McIllree said on Tuesday.

SRK has assigned an exploration target of 20-million tonnes to 60-million tonnes at 6% to 9% ilmenite, which Bluejay aims to expand in the upcoming work programme. The Iterlak Delta, at a total surface area of more than 2.65-million square metres, is a primary source of the ilmenite for the broader licence area.

Fieldwork will start in late June and will continue until October.

Bluejay further said that it was continuing with work advancing its exploitation licence applications and that it should be in a position to submit its applications by the end of the 2018 field season.
