VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – Project developer Bacanora Lithium is making good progress on its feasibility study for the Zinnwald lithium project, located in Germany’s Southern Saxony region, the company reported on Wednesday.

The company, which has now successfully re-domiciled from Canada to London, in the UK, and moved its equity listing from the TSX-V to the LSE Aim market, stated that the study remains on schedule for completion during the second quarter of 2019.

The company advised that infill drilling was completed during December and that the company is currently collating the assay results in preparation for an updated mineral resource estimate, slated for publication during the current quarter.

The new resource estimate, which is to be prepared in accordance with the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 standard, will precede mine design and planning, the company noted.

Metallurgical testing of the crushing and grinding characteristics of the Zinnwald mineralisation is being followed by work on magnetic separation and roasting, which is currently in progress.

Once this work is completed, the metallurgical test work will focus on producing high-value downstream lithium products, facilitated by access to product reagents from the chemical industries located in Dresden.

Bacanora’s main focus, however, remains on the Sonora lithium project, in Hermosillo state, Mexico, where it has, to date, delineated significant lithium resources and reserves and confirmed the economics associated with becoming a 35 000 t/y lithium carbonate and 30 000 t/y of sulphate of potash producer.
