General aviation services company ExecuJet, which will exhibit at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, aims to use the indaba as a platform to promote itself as a provider of safe trans-portation solutions and the general aviation company of choice for the African mining industry.

It is the third time that ExecuJet will exhibit at the event and the company regards the mining industry as one with which it is closely aligned.

“It is also an ideal opportunity for ExecuJet to promote its large charter fleet, which includes aircraft specifically suited to mine sites that are difficult to access,” says ExecuJet Africa MD Ettore Poggi.

Because of the many resource-rich but not easily accessible areas in Africa, the company sees a need to ensure that the option of private air charter as a mode of transport is available to the mining sector.

“ExecuJet manages a range of aircraft, such as intercontinental business jets and aircraft, which can land on unprepared run-ways and are suited to all terrain and landing requirements.

“We can present the advantages and disadvantages of private air charter so that companies fully understand the solution from a quality, safety and practical perspective,” says Poggi, further highlighting that ExecuJet’s services extend beyond air charter to include aircraft handling and fuelling, crew management, flight planning assistance and border clearances.

He adds that the company will use the Mining Indaba, which will take place from February 3 to 6 at the Cape Town Inter-national Convention Centre, to promote its provision of full services, including aircraft maintenance and management, sales and acquisitions, and passenger and crew handling.

Further, Poggi notes that ExecuJet person-nel will discuss the company’s emergency response service provision – for which the company has an established and recognised reputation – at the indaba.

“ExecuJet is looking forward to the promotional platform the event offers. In the past, we enjoyed positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors. “We believe we have a lot to offer mining companies and look forward to reaching those companies to which we have not yet been of service.”

Poggi highlights the many synergies between aviation and mining, such as the importance of safety, and emphasises the need for ExecuJet to help companies understand the value proposition that the company can offer with regard to time efficiency and, more importantly, safety standards.

“We can offer mining companies a solution that enables them to focus on their core busi-ness activity without having to worry about transportation requirements,” he concludes.
