Celebrating 140 years of comprehensive, sustainable and innovative solutions development for the global mining and tunnelling industries, international productivity solutions provider Atlas Copco has embarked on a campaign highlighting how it has worked to provide customers with tailor-made solutions – as no two mining or tunnelling projects are alike.

Ideas Move Mountains relates to more than the company’s product portfolio. Rather, the campaign aims to demonstrate that it takes teamwork to successfully move mountains for as long as Atlas Copco has.

Highlighting the company’s longevity and commitment to overcoming the seemingly impossible task of moving the immovable, Ideas Move Mountains comprises a video featuring various attempts by individuals to break a boulder, as well as an interactive online quiz – MineQuest – that tests your knowledge about the earthmoving industry.

The campaign website also showcases the story of a company with a staff complement of close to 50 000, which collaborated with Atlas Copco to come up with custom solutions.

Atlas Copco acknowledges that the only way it can provide comprehensive solutions that cover products, financing, training and services, while maximising production in a safe, cost-effective and sustainable way, is to prioritise its role as a business partner.

Further, in a bid to achieve an even stronger collaboration with customers to improve clients’ operations and, ultimately, the earthmoving industry, Atlas Copco has also acknowledged how important it is to understand how each client operates on a day-to-day basis, thus enabling Atlas Copco to simplify these operations.

This is because no-one knows a project’s requirements better than the client does, which is why the company aims to listen more than it talks.

Atlas Copco’s team of expert problem-solvers work together to offer a range of specialised equipment and services, approaching each project with personalised and tailor-made solutions. Its business model enables clients to incorporate highly specialised equipment – custom-built by Atlas Copco – into their project site.

However, the company realises that, while its equipment guarantees a low overall lifetime cost, the investment is, nevertheless, significant. This is why Atlas Copco Customer Finance offers a range of financing solutions – including loans and leases – that matches its clients’ specific requirements.

The company also offers training programmes for individual operators, as well as control systems to help customers work as efficiently as possible without having to stop production and waste resources.

Atlas Copco is, therefore, not just a drilling company or roadbuilding business. Rather, it does it all – including machine development and project financing.

Innovative ideas are at the core of who Atlas Copco is, which is why it hopes to develop some even bigger solutions with higher client collaboration over the next 140 years.
