TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Canadian potash hopeful Athabasca Potash has identified preferred locations for the shaft and mill at its Burr project, in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The planned site is located in the east central part of the Burr project area, and was selected based on a site location study conducted by MDH Engineered Solutions, and supported by a 2007 3-D seismic survey interpretation program over the targeted potential shaft locations.
“The excellent geological and geographic qualities of this location continue to support the development of the proposed potash mine," said president and CEO Dawn Zhou.
Athabasca is in the midst of a prefeasibility study for the Burr project, and expects to complete the study in the third quarter of this year.
