JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed platinum producer Anglo Platinum on Monday reopened the Rustenburg mine’s shaft, which was closed after fatality last week, spokesperson Simon Tebele said.
He was unable to say how production at the Rustenburg operations had been lost.
On Wednesday last week, the company reported that a miner had died as a result of a rock fall incident.
Tebele said that a full investigation into the incident was still under way, and that results could take some time.
