JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – South African gold-miner AngloGold Ashanti on Friday said that an electrician had following an electrical flash incident on December 14.

The incident took place on surface at AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng mine, west of Johannesburg, during the replacement of burbars on the emergency sub station of the mine.

This year, more than 160 workers have died in South Africa’s mines.
