JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed African Minerals has appointed Christopher Duffy as a nonexecutive director, effective immediately, it said on Wednesday.

The company also announced that Roy Pitchford had resigned.

Duffy is a partner in international law firm Clyde & Co, and has advised several companies in relation to corporate activities in the UK, and other jurisdictions. He graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in law, and qualified as a solicitor in 1983.

“It is with pleasure that I welcome Duffy to the board of African Minerals. He brings to the company extensive City of London knowledge and experience, and will provide expertise and guidance as a member of the company’s Audit and Remuneration Committees,” said African Minerals executive chairperson Frank Timis.
