Accutrak makes its first appearance at the West African Mining and Power Exhibition this year. The electronics and software company designs, develops and supplies unique production optimisation systems for tracking and weighing in the mining environment. WAMPEX 2014 takes place from 28 to 30 May at Accra Convention Centre in Accra, Ghana.

“We have enjoyed strong growth over the past three years,” says Pierre Swart, Managing Director of Accutrak. “I strongly believe there are excellent opportunities in African markets, which are growing much faster than other world markets at the moment. Last year we established a branch in Zambia and this year we are opening a branch in Ghana.”

A Great Track Record!
Accutrak’s latest software version is now mobile-enabled, which allows a mine production manager to trace real-time production volumes on a smartphone mobile device. “The feedback from customers using the mobile upgrade technology has been absolutely fantastic; they now have access to real time production information wherever they are,” continues Swart. Accutrak’s footprint in South Africa has expanded rapidly, with systems now installed in 14 of the biggest mines in South Africa. One example is its Smartrail and Accuchip systems installed at the Tumela Mine near Thabazimbi. The company also supplies systems to companies in Zambia; a recent project being the installation of a Smartrail system at the Konkola Copper Mine in Zambia.

Real Time, Real Results
Accutrak’s systems provide accurate production measurement, optimised hopper loading, continuous shift monitoring for better control and supervision of production team goals, contractors’ performance measurement and production output. Accutrak will exhibit its top three products at WAMPEX this year. Smartrail is a rail bound tracking and weighing system that monitors and reports volumes of ore mined daily, per mine, shaft, level works area and box. Accuchip is a material car handling system that manages the availability and utilisation of various material cars used for the underground
mining environment, and Trakload is a trackless tracing and weighing solution.
