Explorer Arizona Metals has made key changes in its leadership team to steer the company in its next phase of growth with the development of the Kay Mine deposit.

To facilitate the progression of Arizona, Duncan Middlemiss has been as president and CEO, succeeding Marc Pais, while Jacques Perron is the new chairperson, succeeding Paul Reid.

The company says Pais and Reid made the decision to initiate a search process for an experienced mine development leadership team.

Middlemiss has a rich background in mine development and corporate leadership from his tenure at Kirkland Lake Gold, St Andrews Goldfields and most recently, as CEO of Wesdome Gold Mines.

Perron is also a seasoned leader in mine development execution and strategic vision, having played pivotal roles at St Andrews Goldfields, Thompson Creek Metals and Pretivm Resources.

Pais and Reid have both resigned from the board.
